Papillion takes its name from the French word papillon, butterfly. Papillion Creek runs through the city, and the monarch butterfly is the municipal symbol, on the water tower and in the Butterfly Garden at Veterans Park (Monroe and Halleck Streets). The settlement grew with the Union Pacific in the 1860s and the city incorporated in 1870. Papillion-La Vista High School teams are the Monarchs. ZIPs 68046 and 68133 are the ones we book.

Tara Heights tri-levels

Tara Heights is a 1970s neighborhood, and many of the houses are tri-levels, including homes on streets such as Hogan Drive. A tri-level changes the cleaning visit because of the stairs. One flight connects the entry level to the bedrooms, and another drops to a lower family room that is usually lived in. That lower room, its bath if it has one, and the landings between them are part of the house, not storage. Tell us the lower level is in use so it is on the list. There is no separate tri-level rate. The visit still follows the bedroom and bath count on the Papillion cost page.

Hunters Crossing, Hunters Ridge, and the south side of Highway 370

Hunters Crossing and Hunters Ridge sit between 84th and 96th Streets, from Cornhusker Road to W. Centennial Road. Many of those houses are two-stories or ranches, and many have three-stall garages and brick fronts. The garage is the everyday door. Grit from the stalls lands in that entry, so the mudroom or the hall off the garage is where a visit starts. A two-story adds a bedroom floor and another bath that a ranch keeps on one level. Say which you have.

South of Highway 370 the newer streets include walkout ranches and two-stories, among them Granite Creek near 102nd Street, Shadow Lake 2, and Ashbury Farm. A walkout means the lower floor opens to the yard, so that level is usually a family room and often a bathroom, not a closed cellar. Shadow Lake Towne Center, at the southwest corner of 72nd Street and Highway 370 (7775 Olson Drive), opened in May 2007. People use that corner when they describe the south side. Neither the shopping center nor the subdivision name changes the price row.

The rec center, the lakes, and the city golf courses

Papillion Landing, at 1046 W. Lincoln Street, is the community recreation center, with a natatorium, an indoor playground, a field house, and a 25-acre outdoor sports complex. Papio Bay Aquatic Center is at 815 E. Halleck Street. SumTur Amphitheater is at 11691 S. 108th Street. Halleck Park's duck pond sits at Lincoln Street and Halleck Park Road. Along Cornhusker Road, Big Elk Lake is at 108th, Portal Recreation Area at 120th, and Prairie Queen Recreation Area at 132nd. Walnut Creek Recreation Area is at Schram Road and Turkey Road. Eagle Hills Golf Course (501 Eagle Hills Drive) and Tara Hills Golf Course (1410 Western Hills Drive) are both city courses. A patio beside a fairway or a lake is ordinary here. If you want that surface included, add it when you book. It is listed on the cost page. It is not a different Papillion price.

Do Tara Heights tri-levels need a different booking note?

Yes. Say the house is a tri-level and whether the lower family room is lived in, so the stairs, the landings, and that lower room are on the list. The price still follows the bedroom and bath count.

Do you clean Hunters Crossing, Hunters Ridge, and the streets south of Highway 370?

Yes. We clean two-stories and ranches between 84th and 96th, including houses with three-stall garages, and walkout ranches and two-stories south of Highway 370 in places such as Granite Creek, Shadow Lake 2, and Ashbury Farm.

Does a walkout ranch south of Highway 370 include the lower floor?

When you tell us the lower floor is living space. A walkout usually opens to the yard and often has its own bath. Mention that so the lower family room is included.
