What a deep clean covers, room by room

A standard house cleaning keeps a home that is already in decent shape. A deep clean is the pass for the jobs that pile up over months. The side-by-side list lives on deep clean versus standard clean. This page is the room-by-room version for Omaha and the towns around it.

Kitchen

Both visits wipe counters, the cooktop, the sink, and the outside of the appliances, and both clean the inside of the microwave. The deep clean also opens the oven and the refrigerator, degreases the range hood and the backsplash, and wipes cabinet fronts. Inside the cabinets and drawers is part of this visit. On a standard clean those interiors are a $45 add-on, and the oven and refrigerator interiors are $35 each. If the rest of the kitchen is fine and only one appliance is grimy, the add-on is the smaller job. The price comparison is on what a deep clean costs in Omaha.

Bathrooms

Toilets, tubs, showers, mirrors, and the floor are cleaned either way. The deep clean scrubs grout and the tile walls, not just the flat surfaces. Soap film on the glass and a ring at the toilet rim are the spots that take the extra time. Say how many bathrooms are actually used, including one on a lower level, so the appointment matches the house.

Bedrooms, closets, and living rooms

Dusting, vacuuming, and mopping happen on both visits. A deep clean also goes under and behind furniture that can be moved, hand-wipes the baseboards, dusts the blinds, and wipes light switches, door frames, and knobs. Closet shelves and the closet floor are included. Window sills are dusted on a standard visit. On this visit the tracks get attention too, where a cloth can reach. We do not pull built-in units away from the wall. If a piece is too heavy or too fragile to shift, we clean around it and say so.

When people in the metro book one

  • The first visit before weekly, every-two-weeks, or monthly house cleaning. Once the buildup is gone, the repeating visit can stay on the standard list.
  • The house has not had a professional clean in three months or more.
  • A spring or fall reset. With regular standard cleans, many homes only need this heavier pass once or twice a year.
  • Before guests come, or after they leave, when the guest room and the extra bath have been ignored.
  • Before you list, or after a renovation, when dust has settled into trim and tracks.
  • Moving in, so the kitchen and baths are done before the boxes land. Moving out for a landlord checklist is move-in/out cleaning, which is quoted by size and condition rather than as this deep clean.

How to get the house ready

You are not supposed to clean before the cleaners. The useful prep is clearing the way, and it is the same short list as what to do before the house cleaners arrive: floors picked up, counters cleared, dishes in the dishwasher, bottles off the tub ledge. For this heavier visit, also empty the food from any shelf you want washed inside the refrigerator, and leave the oven racks where they can be lifted out. Pets can be crated or closed in a room you want skipped. You do not have to be home if a code, a lockbox, or a garage keypad is set. Text (402) 401-4842 if the note is easier than the form.

Omaha water, and why fixture film shows up

Metropolitan Utilities District says it lime-softens Omaha tap water to about 170 milligrams per liter, which it states is the same as 10 grains per gallon. At the Florence plant, about 35 percent of the hardness is removed from raw Missouri River water before that water goes into the system. MUD also says the finished water still leaves small amounts of calcium carbonate, tan in color, on pipes and on fixtures. That film collects on shower glass, faucet necks, and the toilet rim when a house goes a long time between scrubs. A standard visit wipes the fixture. This visit scrubs the mineral line. Council Bluffs uses a different water system, so mention fixture film in the notes if that is why you are booking there.

Older Omaha houses take longer for a reason you can see

The Census Bureau's 2020โ€“2024 American Community Survey, table B25034, estimates 213,023 housing units in Omaha city. The largest group is 1939 or earlier, at 37,912 units. The 1970s account for 32,393, the 1960s for 28,703, the 1950s for 22,145, and the 1940s for 8,582. Adding those five published estimates gives 129,735 units built before 1980. The count is for housing inside the Omaha city limits.

On a visit, that age shows up as trim, small tiled baths, and stairs. Dundee and Benson are the neighborhoods where original wood and a single older bath are common. Millard, brought into the city in 1971, is more often a ranch or a split-level, so the question there is the lower floor rather than the woodwork. The annexation dates and the Maple Street district are written on the house cleaning page. For this reset, the booking note is enough: built-ins, a third floor, or a lower level you live in. Standard prices by size, the baseline before a deep clean is quoted, are on the Omaha cost page.

The eleven towns

Scope is the same list everywhere we drive. The house changes, not the checklist.

  • Omaha for Dundee, Benson, Midtown, Millard, Aksarben, and the rest of the city.
  • Bellevue for Olde Towne and the streets near Offutt.
  • Papillion for Washington Street houses and the newer streets along Highway 370.
  • La Vista for one-story houses from the first plat and for apartments.
  • Elkhorn for the original Main Street and the larger plans farther west.
  • Ralston for ranches and split-levels between 72nd and 90th.
  • Gretna for downtown cottages, newer subdivisions, and acreages toward the Platte.
  • Bennington for in-town houses and northwest acreages along Highway 36.
  • Council Bluffs for pre-war houses and hillside stairs above downtown.
  • Carter Lake for houses on the Iowa oxbow beside Eppley.
  • Neola for the Front Street grid and county-road acreages.

Price, and how to book

Most Omaha homes run $190 to $360 for a full deep clean. Size and condition move the number inside that range. A standard clean starts at $99 for 1 bed / 1 bath and $119 for 2 bed / 1 bath on the booking page, with the town-by-town tables on each cost page. We do not print a deep-clean row for every bedroom count, because condition changes the time more than the ZIP does. Call (712) 435-2220 or send the form if you would rather talk it through. Supplies come with the crew. Fragrance-free products are available if you ask. If something in the original scope is off, contact us within 24 hours and we come back at no charge.

What does a deep clean include that a standard clean does not?

A standard clean covers counters, the cooktop, the sink, the outside of the appliances, the inside of the microwave, bathrooms, dusting, vacuuming, and mopping. A deep clean adds the inside of the oven and the refrigerator, grout and tile walls, baseboards wiped by hand, blinds, light switches, door frames, the inside of closets and cabinets, and the floor under and behind furniture.

How much does deep cleaning cost in Omaha?

Most Omaha homes run $190 to $360 for a full deep clean, depending on size and condition. If only the oven or the refrigerator is the problem, a standard clean plus those add-ons at $35 each usually costs less. Standard prices by home size are on the Omaha cost page.

When should I book a deep clean instead of a regular house cleaning?

Book a deep clean before recurring visits start, when the house has not been professionally cleaned in three months or more, for a spring or fall reset, before or after guests, before you list, after a renovation, or when you move in. A landlord move-out is a separate service.

How do I get the house ready for a deep clean?

Clear the floors and the counters, put dishes in the dishwasher, and move bottles off the tub and the vanity. You do not need to scrub first. If you want the oven or the refrigerator interior done, take out the food and set the racks where we can reach them.

Do you deep clean in the other metro towns?

Yes. The same deep clean is booked in Bellevue, Papillion, La Vista, Elkhorn, Ralston, Gretna, Bennington, Council Bluffs, Carter Lake, and Neola, as well as Omaha.
